Overview
This End User License Agreement is between Cikareotype and the person, business, studio, agency, or organization that obtains and uses a Cikareotype font.
By purchasing, downloading, installing, accessing, embedding, or using a font, you accept this agreement. If you do not accept it, do not use the font files.
This agreement covers fonts obtained from Cikareotype, an authorized marketplace, a free promotion, or a separately approved written arrangement.
Ownership
Cikareotype retains ownership of its typefaces, font software, glyph designs, font names, specimen artwork, previews, and related source material. Purchasing or downloading a font gives you usage rights; it does not transfer copyright, design ownership, source files, or exclusive rights in the typeface.
License Grant
Subject to this agreement and the license selected for the order, Cikareotype grants the license holder a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the supplied font files within the purchased scope.
The license name and terms recorded with the order govern that purchase. A use that is not included requires another applicable license or written permission from Cikareotype.
License Types
Cikareotype offers the following active licenses. Each one covers a different project scope.
- Free License — For commercial use with free Cikareotype products.
- Standard + Webfont — For everyday commercial projects, websites, social posts, and client work.
- POD & Editable Templates — For print-on-demand products and editable design templates.
- Professional — For studios, agencies, and larger commercial production.
- Trademark Logo — For logo marks and brand identities intended for trademark registration.
- App/Game & Server — For embedding fonts in apps, games, software, or server-rendered systems.
- Extended — For expanded commercial use, larger distribution, and broader campaign rights.
- Corporate — A comprehensive organization-wide license covering all standard commercial usage categories available under Cikareotype paid licensing.
Permitted Use
You may create finished work only within the uses allowed by the license attached to your order. Finished work should be delivered as artwork, print, video, outlined vectors, raster images, PDFs, or another format that does not give an unlicensed person access to the font file.
Project scope, distribution, embedding, team access, and the ability for another person to edit text must remain within the selected license.
Restrictions
Unless the selected license or a written agreement expressly allows it, you may not:
- Resell, redistribute, share, sublicense, lend, gift, or publicly upload the font files.
- Provide font files to clients, contractors, team members, or other third parties who are not covered by the license.
- Embed or package the font where it can be extracted, downloaded, or reused by an unlicensed person.
- Include the font in templates, apps, games, software, servers, or editable products without the license that covers that use.
- Claim ownership of the font software, typeface design, glyphs, or original font name.
- Modify, convert, reverse engineer, or recreate the font for redistribution, resale, or a competing font product.
Desktop & Print Use
Desktop and print use covers installing the font to create static artwork in design applications. The resulting work may be used only within the scope of the license attached to the order. Font files may not be passed to another user who is not covered.

Webfont Use
Webfont use covers serving supplied webfont files on a website. Reasonable measures must be used to prevent standalone downloading or reuse. Online editors, user-generated design tools, and server-rendered systems require a license that expressly covers those uses.

Logo & Trademark Use
A font may be used in a logo or identity within the selected license scope. Registering the resulting logo, wordmark, or identity as a trademark requires a license that includes trademark use. The font software and typeface remain non-exclusive Cikareotype property.

Editable Templates, POD & Digital Products
Editable templates, print-on-demand products, and products in which customers can change text require coverage for that use. Do not bundle the original font file or make it extractable. A customer who needs the font file for independent use needs their own license.

Apps, Games, Software & Server Use
Embedding or deploying a font in an app, game, software product, automated system, or server environment requires coverage for that platform. The implementation must not expose the font as a reusable standalone download.
Included licenses: App/Game & Server, Extended, Corporate
Extended Distribution
Large campaigns, broad distribution, broadcast-style output, and other expanded commercial uses require a license that includes the relevant distribution scope. Uses outside that scope require separate written approval.

Corporate & Enterprise Use
A comprehensive organization-wide license covering all standard commercial usage categories available under Cikareotype paid licensing.
Corporate is a comprehensive organization-wide umbrella license covering all standard commercial usage categories available under Cikareotype paid licensing: desktop and print; webfont; social media and digital content; client projects; commercial production; POD and physical products; editable templates; logo and trademark use; app and game embedding; software and server use; large-scale distribution and extended commercial usage; and company-wide enterprise deployment. It includes every permitted usage of the other active paid licenses within the licensed organization and purchased scope, eliminating the need to purchase separate lower-tier licenses for those covered uses. Font files may not be resold, publicly redistributed, made available for standalone extraction, or transferred outside the licensed organization or scope. Uses outside that organization or scope require written approval or a separate agreement.

Client Work & Third-Party Use
Designers, freelancers, studios, and agencies may deliver finished, non-editable work to a client when their license includes client projects. Font files cannot be transferred to the client. A client who needs to install, edit with, embed, or otherwise use the font independently needs appropriate coverage.

Modification & Conversion
You may outline or rasterize text and make normal visual adjustments inside finished artwork. You may not alter, rename, decompile, reverse engineer, or turn the font into a derivative font for distribution, resale, public sharing, or a competing product. Custom font work requires a separate written agreement.
Backup Copies & File Storage
You may keep reasonable backup copies for your licensed use. Backups, cloud folders, shared drives, and asset-management systems must remain controlled and accessible only to users covered by the license.
Free Fonts & Promotional Downloads
For commercial use with free Cikareotype products.
Free License allows commercial use under Cikareotype free font terms.
- Use free Cikareotype fonts in commercial projects.
- Redistributing or reselling the font files is not permitted.
Termination
Your rights under this agreement end if you breach the applicable license terms or use the font outside the purchased scope. When rights end, you must stop the unauthorized use, remove improper embedding, and delete copies that are not lawfully retained.
Warranty & Liability
Cikareotype fonts are provided as available unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. Compatibility with every application, device, operating system, browser, printer, or production workflow is not guaranteed.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Cikareotype is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss arising from use of, or inability to use, a font. Delivery issues caused by Cikareotype may be addressed through replacement files or reasonable technical support.
